"Just made it on time today to try out Babe's BBQ. I had never been there so I went inside and asked for a to go order. The lovely lady at the cash register said I had to order to go at the window outside. I went back outside to the window and was informed I had just made it and would be their last customer today due to a crazy lunch rush. I was also told they were out of Brisket. I ordered the Rib Plate and Sausage Plate as well as the Jalapeno Poppers, Red Neck Ravioli (Mac and cheese mixed with Brunswick Stew), Baked Beans and Collards. Bottom line one of, if not the best, BBQ Places in the Savannah area. Absolutely delicious! Next time I am trying their sandwiches!"

"Here's an honest review. I have been a customer for many years. Babes BBQ is hit and miss with the service for the last few years. The ribs and brisket are delicious on the better days. They are both tender and juicy. On the bad days, you could whine up with burnt ends or something hard to chew. So, I advise all to-go orderers to check your food before leaving. It's hard to place an order over the phone 90% of the time, 5% - someone answers the phone but places you on hold & never comes back, then 5% - you get to place an order. I read a review that questioned the cleanliness. It's very valid. I have witnessed a food prep person who smoked a cigarette with the same glove he was wearing while preparing food. The person was smoking in a designated area & dialed their cellphone then returned to the kitchen and started back working. The individual never changed gloves. Just don't look through the to-go window. No, I didn't report the business to the health department. Some of the finest restaurants don't have clean kitchens and . I just took it out of our lunch rotation for a few months then checked their health inspection scores before returning. I do lunch pick ups for my co-workers. One of them received uncooked chicken tenders before. The kitchen is often in dismay. It happens a lot in kitchens during rush hours. However, I often wonder what the end of the day clean up process is like. Personally, I thought the ribs were better before the restaurant switched smokers a few years ago. This place is a mom & pop joint that has a very country down home vibe. I believe that the lack of quality workers is hurting the business, as it is hurting many food service businesses. The owners used to bake and sell some delicious cakes. Those were the places best days. Sometimes growth can kill a business' performance. Hopefully, that doesn't be the case with this place."

"-Server was great. -welcoming atmosphere - nice and cozy - attentive -fast service -clean -chicken was of lesser quality possibly as the remains of the feather "pricklies" was still on the wings. -fast seating for groups as well"

"The food was good. I definitely left full. And just being honest my expectations were high. I've been trying to come to this place and eat for a while and never could get in the door. So finally made it and got the combo plate so I could try everything. As far as barbecue brisket and some of the sides. Everything was good but I was a little disappointed on the brisket. I thought it was going to be a little better. But again it was still good. Just did not meet my expectations. But again, it was good. And I would go back. The service there was great. They made sure to take care of us. Very nice and friendly."

"I got the two meat plate with 2 sides and I really enjoyed my meal. The brisket is definitely a must. The pork was similar to bacon so I might recommend going for a different meat if you are not into that. Service was great and portions are good!"

"This was a cool little spot to get some good BBQ. I enjoyed the rib plate , Texas Toast with the redneck ravioli and some sweet tea. Will return next year when I come back to Savannah."
